The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found a promising hack by leveraging seasoned actors with a new designation. While fans believe the strategy is purely backed by the insecurity of the new lineup of Marvel entries made with fresh flag-bearers of savior syndrome, they have nonetheless enjoyed the revival, turning the atheists into believers in the afterlife. After off-shoring with the idea and halfway making amends with Robert Downey Jr.’s departure in Endgame, the iron hearts were in pieces until Marvel caught fans off-guard with Doomsday, followed by the reports on Chris Evans to keep fans’ gray cells busy.
Recent updates have finally pulled the curtain from the character he is about to take and no, it is not Captain America.

In a recent conversation on The Hot Mic with John Rocha, Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider shared never-heard-before updates on Chris Evans’ Marvel Cinematic Universe return in the Avengers: Doomsday. According to the source, Evans will take on the identity of Nomad in the Avengers film, slated to re-introduce Robert Downey Jr.. In the comics, Steve Rogers adopts an alternate identity, Nomad, after abandoning his Captain America costume and title in Captain America #180, published in 1974.
Earlier, fans speculated Evans taking Nomad on an MCU ride with Captain in Avengers: Infinity War when, in a symbolic act of defiance, he ripped the all-American emblem from his costume, shedding the iconic insignia like a skin that no longer fit. In an interview with LRM Online that year, Joe Russo explained the actor was “embodying the spirit” of Nomad. Now, it looks like the studio has ultimately found the opportunity for its dramatic flourishing.
That said, Evans is set to officially play the Nomad version of Steve Rogers for the first time. While tabloids have had a field day over the characters he could have taken, now that it is out in the open, here is what Nomad can do with his abilities.
All about Nomad, the MCU character Chris Evans is donning the cape for in Doomsday
After The Wrap announced Chris Evans’ comeback in MCU while fans were still reeling from Robert Downey Jr.’s villainous turnover, they could barely spare the discussions of a dream team reunion. However, with Evans portraying Nomad in Avengers: Doomsday, it may not be the Iron Cap duet they expect. Writer Steve Englehart and artist Sal Buscema created the Nomad name and costume, as an alternate identity for the original Captain America, Steve Rogers.

In the comics, Nomad’s abilities have a slight upper hand over Captain’s. Famous as a remarkable marksman with skills ranging from martial arts to acrobatics, Nomad’s primary weapons are “stun discs” and firearms. Though Nomad arrived intending to abandon Captain’s life of heroics, Nomad is a hero who eventually adopted a dark blue and yellow costume without patriotic symbols. However, considering Downey Jr. is the Multiverse’s biggest malevolent force, despite his reunion with Evans, they might not team up to save America.
