“Wants to play a full season at Kansas”: NFL Insider Announces Jalon Daniels’ Comeback 291 Days After Injury

If there is one thing that Jalon Daniels wants from his college career, it is to play a whole season for the Kansas Jayhawks from start to finish, nonstop. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg firmly believes in this. Hence, he believes that if the elite QB gets a chance to appear in each game this season, the returns for both him and his team would be titillating.

“Jalon Daniels is leaving the hyperbole to others. He just wants to play a full season at Kansas,” Rittenberg wrote, emphasizing how there is a ‘hold-your-breath feeling‘ surrounding ‘one of college football’s most breathtaking players‘. With all the performance Daniels has presented in the games he got a chance to play in, he has been a must-watch player. The phenomenal threat comes with the perfect balance of athleticism and a strong arm. His 74.7% completions are a testament enough to his accuracy.

This is precisely why there is just one thing that Daniels asks for. “Every time I pray, I just ask you to allow me to play every game this season. That’s been my No. 1 goal, especially since I’ve been hurt, the one thing that I love to do. I didn’t come to college not to play college football,” Daniels asserted, removing any semblances of questions surrounding his intentions for the season.

Last season was a step ahead in the books of their program history. With their 6–7 overall record, they started the season with 2 consecutive wins something that happened for the first time since the 2011 season. Not only that, they also secured a spot in the Liberty Bowl, which they lost to Arkansas. Speaking of the conference score, the Jayhawks went 3–6 in the Big 12. If Daniels brings his fabulous football skills to the table the whole of this season, they might as well get to the top of the Big 12 leadership boards.

Will the injury come in Jalon Daniels’ way again?

Injuries haven’t been to kind on the Jayhawks. It has been 291 days, about 9.5 months since Jalon Daniels met the unfortunate day of getting sidelined because of his chronic back pain. Head coach Lance Leipold noticed something being wrong during their clash against Texas. However, no major concern was raised by their QB. It was during the practice of their next clash against Austin that Daniels’ back pain flared up. So much so that by the time the QB reached the locker room, Coach Leipold saw him “in tears.”

The back pain of Daniles has been in a grey area from the beginning. “The craziest part for me is I’ve never had any problems with my back per se. It was kind of new to me,” Daniels had confessed about his back pain. Despite no history of back pain or any major injury, the mystery surrounding Daniles’ back pain could be cut with a knife.

Since then, however, his injury has been recovering steadily. Will it affect him again? We can’t say for sure. However, now that the QB is back on track, his team can expect him to guide them through the hurdles that the new additions in their conference like Colorado would bring and would lead them straight to the Big 12 Championship.
