Netflix fans go wild after ‘bingeing’ new crime drama that ‘keeps you glued to your TV’

Netflix viewers are buzzing over a new crime drama that has become a must-watch series on the streaming platform.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, a six-part mystery thriller, is being hailed as the ‘best thing’ to watch right now after captivating audiences with its suspenseful plot.

The series stars Emma Myers, who gained fame as Enid Sinclair, Jenna Ortega‘s werewolf roommate on the Netflix smash hit Wednesday.

In this new role, she portrays Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi, a 17-year-old true crime enthusiast determined to uncover the truth behind a murder that has rocked her small town.

Based on Holly Jackson’s best-selling young adult mystery novel and subsequent trilogy series, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is set in the fictional town of Little Kilton in Buckinghamshire.

The story revolves around the unsolved murder of a high school student five years earlier.

While the police closed the case, believing the victim’s boyfriend was the culprit, Pip remains unconvinced and embarks on her own investigation, unearthing dark secrets and hidden truths along the way.

Since its release, the show has garnered widespread acclaim, earning an impressive 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In addition to Myers, the cast features Bridgeton’s India Lillie Davies, as well as Rahul Pattni and Zain Iqbal.

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Myers expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating: ‘I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream.

‘Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.’

Sharing her excitement about seeing her novel adapted for the small screen, author Holly Jackson said: I’m beyond excited to see my work come to life on Netflix.

‘I hope viewers will love discovering (or rediscovering) all the secrets and lies of our small English town – Little Kilton.’

Jackson added: ‘Viewers can expect laugh-out-loud moments from all the teenage antics, but also all the pulse-pounding twists you’d find in the darkest of thrillers.’

The series, which initially aired on BBC iPlayer in the UK, has found a new global audience on Netflix, where fans have been quick to praise it.

On LADbible’s Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, viewers raved about the show’s stimulating storyline and binge-worthy appeal.

One person wrote, ‘I’m loving the twists. Only a few more episodes,’ while another said, ‘So freaking good! Omg the plot twist had me on edge.’

Another fan commented, ‘Best thing on Netflix right now,’ as a fourth wrote, ‘I liked it as well. I was glued to TV and watched until 2AM.’

Another viewer who enjoyed watching the show said: ‘This reminds me of the Wednesday series, excluding the dark humour. Easy to follow, and has enough depth to keep your attention.’

Even fans of the trilogy novels were left impressed, with one writing: ‘Loved it, skipped a good portion of the book to fit into the episodes, but a good watch!’

Another wrote: ‘Of course the books will always be better. But this series is not bad at all. Quite amazing, actually. Also yes, it feels rushed but if you are someone who hasn’t read the books and is just planning to watch this instead, you’ll be fine.’

However, one fan of the novel series was a little more critical, writing: ‘I thought the novel was way better, this series seems like they rushed the storyline a bit but overall it was pretty good.’

Meanwhile, Netflix fans have hailed a new series as a ‘masterpiece’ after it was released on the streaming platform last month – but other viewers gave a less positive reaction as they bemoaned the inclusion of a frustrating plot hole.
