But the same insider warned that this short call “was more symbolic than substantial“, more intention spoken than action underway.

The timing was significant as RadarOnline’s reported phone call between Markle and the King came on the heels of the recent reports of reconciliation between him and his youngest son, Prince Harry, during his UK visit. Many critics view Meghan Markle‘s actions as linked to the warming of relations, speculating that she will apply the new opening to mend fences with the wider royal group. Others argue that although she might desire peace, deep-rooted suspicion and media attention will render substantive reconciliation a grinding, uphill task.
