Last week, Netflix released a trailer for Meghan Markle’s new cooking show, With Love, Meghan, to a divided audience. The sneak peek gives us a look into the lighthearted cooking projects and joyful hosting that Markle takes on with her own easeful style. Throughout the trailer, viewers are treated to shots of layered sponge cakes and verdant gardens. It’s not all about perfection, though. We also see pan flips gone wrong and citrus juice spraying everywhere.
While there are plenty of mixed feelings out there about the show, I couldn’t help but admire the cookware and kitchen tools in Markle’s studio kitchen, like clever spider strainers and elegant pasta bowls. As someone who never hesitates to pause, rewind, and rewind again in order to identify kitchen gear, I combed through the trailer to gather the cookware and tools that make hosting look like a breeze on the show. A few were even Food & Wine favorites, like the Zojirushi rice cooker I spotted on the countertop or the Shun chef’s knife that effortlessly slices into cake.

Le Creuset 3.5-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Signature Braiser
From readying focaccia for the oven to cooking zucchini on the stovetop, this Le Creuset braiser makes several appearances throughout the trailer. The maker of our favorite Dutch oven and enameled cast iron skillet, Le Creuset designed its braiser to ensure even cooking and browning. With a wide, shallow base and gently sloped sides, it promotes easy stirring and the enameled interior makes for quick cleanup.
Shun Classic 3.5-Inch Paring Knife
Once the focaccia is on the table, Markle slices through the delicate bread with a Shun paring knife that leaves behind clean strips for sharing. A humble but essential tool in the kitchen, paring knives make quick work of slicing fruit, dicing scallions, peeling garlic, and more.
Shun Classic Blonde 8-Inch Chef’s Knife
In the trailer, Markle cuts into a towering sponge cake filled with fruit and whipped cream, producing a clean slice thanks to her Shun chef’s knife. Shun makes our favorite Japanese chef’s knife, which has a super sharp blade to ensure smooth chopping, slicing, and dicing.
Stainless Steel Spider Strainer
If you ever venture into the world of deep frying, you’ll want a spider strainer to easily scoop out your deep-fried goodies. They’re also great for scooping out boiled foods, like potatoes or dumplings. When making fritters, Markle uses a spider skimmer with a wide basket and hexagonal mesh that ensures nothing falls through.
OXO Good Grips Medium Cookie Scoop
For planting generous portions of ice cream in her sundaes, Markle uses a scoop similar to this OXO Good Grips cookie scoop. The silicone grip makes squeezing it easy and the satisfying release produces perfectly round balls of ice cream (or cookie dough) every time.
Y Yhy Pasta Bowls, Set of 6
In the Netflix trailer, Markle plates a ceviche topped with delicate radish and carrot shavings in a pasta bowl to elegantly display the meal. The gently sloped sides provide the perfect stage for her dish, and you can grab your own set of six on sale for only $5 apiece.
Vitamix 5200 Blender
For a smooth sauce or puréed soup, a powerful blender is worth the investment (and cabinet space). Markle works with a Vitamix similar to one of our favorites, the Vitamix 5200. The 5200 shreds through kale without a problem and chomps ice to produce smooth frozen drinks. It also has a large 64-ounce capacity that can easily handle larger batches.
Zojirushi Micom Rice Cooker
Tucked away into the corner of the studio kitchen is a Zojirushi rice cooker, a favorite of ours thanks to its even heating and programmable settings. It’s a reliable workhorse that can make more than just rice — my mom uses it to bake chiffon cake— and I’m especially excited to see what Markle makes on her show with this time-tested kitchen essential.
Zulay Kitchen 2-in-1 Lemon and Lime Squeezer
Markle breezes through juicing citrus with this clever 2-in-1 lemon squeezer that works with lemons or limes. The design has two filters built into the gadget in order to accommodate smaller limes and larger lemons.
Anchor Hocking 10-Piece Mixing Bowl Set
Glass mixing bowls are in nearly every shot of the trailer. That’s not a surprise, since mixing bowls are essential to any home cook who loves to host. They streamline workflows and are especially helpful for keeping ingredients organized. This 10-piece Anchor Hocking set ranges from 1 ounce to 3.5 quarts in capacity, making it a versatile set for mixing batters, holding spices, and more.
