Tell Me Lies’ showrunner has announced the Disney+ thriller has come to an end after three seasons.
Disney+ fans have become “obsessed” with the dark romantic drama Tell Me Lies which is now available to stream for free.
Adapted from author Carola Lovering’s 2018 bestselling novel of the same name, Tell Me Lies launched on television in 2022, exploring the toxic and volatile relationship between Lucy Albright (played by Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White).
The series unfolds at the fictional Baird College in upstate New York with the thriller presented through dual timelines spanning from 2008 to 2015.
Since its launch, Hulu audiences in the US and Disney+ subscribers have been “addicted” but now, there’s an alternative method to watch the “best show ever”.
Tell Me Lies seasons one and two are available to binge-watch for free via BBC’s complimentary streaming service BBC iPlayer.
Sadly, the latest instalment, series three which premiered last month, hasn’t yet been added to the platform.
However, given that the remainder of the boxset is already on BBC iPlayer, it does appear probable that season three will also become available in due course.
Describing it as “perfect”, a fan shared: “I seriously can’t stop watching this series…although I am constantly frustrated by many of the characters (one specifically), I can’t help but watch more and more. This is my favorite show ever.”
Another viewer chimed in: “This show is totally addicting and captivating, and has me sucked in. Definitely a guilty pleasure at its finest.”
A third enthused: “The drama, actually jaw dropping, the acting, the twists!”.
“There hasn’t been a show like this in a long time…amazing.”
Yet another fan remarked: “This feels very euphoria mix with big little lies mixed with something else I can’t put my finger on. Very original and very nice good job guys.”
However, fans of Tell Me Lies were disheartened to discover today, Tuesday, February 17, that the series won’t be returning, concluding with its third season.
Showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer confirmed on Instagram: “This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.”
She continued: “Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion.
“My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you.
“And so, whilst it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending – a privilege very few shows get.
“Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future.”
Tell Me Lies is available to watch on Disney+ and BBC iPlayer.
