A man took a trip all the way to Paris to buy a Louis Vuitton chocolate bag for nearly £200. Many people will have indulged in some chocolate over the weekend for Easter but Carmie Sellitto, from London, took it even further by getting his hands on an edible designer treat.

Carmie is known for reviewing new foods on social media that we might not normally be able to afford. He posted a video on TikTok on Sunday, April 20 giving his honest verdict on the Louis Vuitton chocolate bag, in the shape of an Easter egg. The product retails at 225 Euros which is equal to £192.90.

Speaking in the video Carmie said: “I had to travel all the way to Paris just to get this because they don’t sell it anywhere else. It smells so chocolatey. I’ve never ever had some sort of chocolate from like Louis Vuitton so I’m really intrigued to know what that tastes like as well.”

Carmie proceeded to take the chocolate bag out of the cardboard box it came packaged in and he described it as “actually insane.” He mentioned that it was “so heavy” and that he could feel the detailing of the zipline of the chocolate.

The food reviewer said it felt as if he could pull the zip down to unlock the bag. Commenting on the appearance of the product, he remarked: “It’s so beautiful that I don’t even want to bite into it.”

Holding it by the handles, he was also amazed at how much it felt “like a real bag” and wasn’t “flimsy.” Carmie then tried to see if he could open the bag using the zip but found that the zipper isn’t real.

Moving onto tasting the chocolate bag, he firstly took a bite out of the handles and exclaimed: “That is some good chocolate!” Next, the new food reviewer tasted the top part of the chocolate Easter egg shaped bag and uncovered a middle layer of chocolate inside.

He dropped the whole bag onto a table, cracking it to get a good look inside the product. Carmie unveiled a smooth layer of chocolate inside which he said felt like leather.

He bit this part of the bag and his pupils dilated, indicating how impressed he was. Carmie said: “That is beautiful. So inside the bag it’s like a hazelnut praline which is one of my favourites.”

The food reviewer then tasted the outer layer of the bag, the egg ‘shell’ printed all over with the classic Louis Vuitton logo, and noted that he loved the “crunch.” Carmie concluded his TikTok video: “So yeah, I am going to go ahead and rate it a solid ten out of ten.

“Shoutout to Louis Vuitton and shoutout to the chef or chocolate maker who is Maxime Frédéric, sorry if I pronounce it wrong. I’m Italian, not French.”

The Louis Vuitton website explains: “From Normandy to Paris, Maxime Frédéric, Pastry Chef of the Year according to the Gault & Millau 2022 Guide and pastry chef at Cheval Blanc Paris, has brought his renowned expertise to Louis Vuitton, combining savoir-faire with emblematic signatures for iconic, delectable creations.”

Frédéric’s Louis Vuitton ‘Chocolate Egg Bag’ was inspired by the “iconic model created by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of the Women’s collections.”
