James Anderson to go under hammer in SA20 auction on Sep 9

Former England cricket team pacer James Anderson has registered himself for the SA20 auction and will go under the hammer on September 9. 782 players have registered for the auction for the next edition of the tournament in hopes of finding buyers. The next edition of SA20 will get underway from December 26, 2025 onwards and the final will be held just days before the T20 World Cup.

43-year-old Anderson brought the curtains down on his glorious career July 2024. Since then, he has played 17 matches, including in first-class games, T20 matches and The Hundred. And now, he is eyeing to enter another T20 tournament, this time in South Africa. Anderson had earlier thrown his hat in the ring in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year but found no buyers.
