Justin Trudeau’s rapper son makes rare comments about Katy Perry

Justin Trudeau‘s son Xavier Trudeau made rare comments about his father’s relationship with Katy Perry.

The 18-year-old aspiring rapper said that the pop star is ‘cool’ and ‘nice’ during an appearance in content creator G Hobs’s car interview on Sunday.

In the influencer’s Instagram reel, Xavier confirmed that his politician father had introduced him to his girlfriend as their relationship is getting increasingly serious.

The couple have even already been the subject of unfounded pregnancy rumors. 

After confirming he already met and had spent time with his dad’s girlfriend, Xavier said: ‘She’s cool. She’s nice.’ 

He also opened up about some of the topics they discussed, including their shared interest in music.

In an Instagram reel published over the weekend, he confirmed that he met the Grammy nominee and offered up details about how they got along

He said that he has ‘talked for hours’ with the 13-time Grammy nominee and had a conversation ‘about [his] music’ in particular. 

‘She gave me advice and next steps for me and stuff,’ he added. 

When asked if he and Perry ever talked about her trip to space and Hobs joked about ‘going to the moon,’ Xavier replied: ‘We didn’t talk about that. Did she even go to the moon?’ 

Last year, Xavier also made another public appearance on The Brandon Gomez Show podcast and discussed his music career. 

‘I always loved music, whether it’s creating it [or] listening to it. I always had a passion for it.’ He also gushed about how his parents have encouraged him to pursue his passion. 

‘They’ve been supportive since the start,’ he said. ‘Every single time I come back from the studio, I’d have something to show them, and we’d sit at dinner and just listen to it like, “Oh, I like this. I don’t like that.”‘ 

He added: ‘They love it. They’re happy for me. They’re happy I’m choosing my own path in life.’ 

Trudeau, the former Canadian Prime Minister, shares three children with his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire, which includes Xavier as well as daughter Ella-Grace, 17, and son Hadrien, 11.

Perry was first romantically linked to the former Canadian Prime Minister in the summer of 2025

She was previously in a longtime relationship with actor Orlando Bloom before they ended their engagement last June. The exes share five-year-old daughter Daisy; pictured in April 2024

Trudeau was previously married to Grégoire for 18 years before they separated in 2023. 

Perry shares daughter Daisy, five, with her ex-fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom — who appears to have also moved on too following their split.

Perry and Bloom ended their engagement and called it quits after nine years together in June of last year.

Perry was first romantically linked to Trudeau the following month after they were spotted together in Montreal by eagle-eyed fans. 

In October 2025, the pair were pictured together in California.

That following December, the couple went Instagram official with a post about their romantic couple’s getaway.
