A man has revealed just how far his married lover’s husband is willing to go after discovering the affair, with chilling messages keeping him at arms length following the betrayal
A man has revealed the terrifying reality of falling in love with a married woman – and how her jealous husband’s sinister behaviour has left him living in fear for his life.
Speaking to The Sun’s Dear Deidre column, the 28-year-old confessed he’s now scared to leave his house after receiving a chilling message from the woman’s husband, warning him to stay away.
Since then, he claims, the man has been spotted lurking near the end of his street – and he now fears a violent attack could be just around the corner. Despite the threat to his safety, the man says he’s deeply in love with the woman, a 30-year-old barmaid he met at his local pub.

Their connection was instant – he described her as “gorgeous and funny,” and admitted he started visiting the pub regularly just to see her. “She told me she had a much older husband, who was the jealous type, and she wasn’t happy with him,” he recalled.
What started as a flirty conversation soon escalated into a full-blown affair. The pair shared their first kiss behind the pub, and she later came to his house twice after work, where their relationship escalated.
They exchanged constant messages, and he says she told him she planned to leave her husband. But everything changed when her husband discovered the messages.
In a rage, he kicked off and sent the younger man a menacing threat. Since then, the woman’s lover says he’s become “terrified” to go outside.
“He sent me a threatening message, telling me to keep away from her. He’s even been hanging around the end of my street,” he said.
Even after the discovery, the woman has tried to keep in touch. She managed to reach out to her lover using another phone, telling him she still wants to see him.
But with the threat of violence hanging over him, he’s now at a loss over what to do. “I’m madly in love with her and have no idea what to do,” he added.
Dear Deidre’s response was clear: This man’s behaviour is threatening and dangerous, and the situation should not be ignored. She advised him to report the stalking to the police and seek legal support.
“This man sounds dangerous,” she wrote. “It’s natural that he’s angry his wife is having an affair, but he has no right to threaten or stalk you.”
She also expressed concern for the woman involved, warning that she too may be at serious risk if her husband’s behaviour escalates.
Support organisations like Women’s Aid and the National Stalking Helpline were recommended for both parties.
