We have fitness updates regarding Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma. BCCI has blamed Pakistan for Bangladesh’s exit from the T20 World Cup 2026. PCB is looking to protest ICC by boycotting the India vs Pakistan match. The Indian management has been asked to persist with Sanju Samson. And we have the first centurion of the WPL.

Parag in T20 World Cup?
Washington Sundar isn’t expected to recover by the time the T20 World Cup begins on February 7. The all-rounder had picked up a side strain and will need at least 2 weeks to regain full fitness. The BCCI is looking at Riyan Parag as Sundar’s potential replacement and has asked the Centre of Excellence to make him match-fit.

PCB mulls boycott
PCB hasn’t confirmed Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup. In fact, to protest the ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh with Scotland, the PCB is mulling over boycotting the India vs Pakistan match on February 15. If PCB doesn’t pull out of the high-octane game, they’ll wear black armbands to show their dissent.

Tilak Varma injury update
BCCI has provided an update on Tilak Varma. The batter was initially slated to play the last two T20Is against New Zealand but will miss the entire series, with Shreyas Iyer continuing as his replacement. Tilak will join India’s squad on February 3 and is expected to feature in the warm-up match against South Africa.

Pakistan provoking Bangladesh?
Rajeev Shukla has blamed Pakistan for Bangladesh’s exit from the T20 World Cup. The BCCI Vice-President has accused the PCB of provoking the BCB, who refused to travel to India, citing security concerns. Shukla added that BCCI had no issues in hosting Bangladesh.

Back Samson over Kishan
Ajinkya Rahane wants Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav to back Sanju Samson. The former Indian Test captain thinks the Indian management should tell Samson that he won’t be dropped against New Zealand or in the T20 World Cup. Rahane further added that Samson might be failing because he’s trying to match Abhishek Sharma.

WPL’s first centurion
Nat Sciver-Brunt has ended WPL’s century drought. The English all-rounder smashed the league’s first hundred against RCB in Vadodara. Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 100, scoring more than half of the MI’s total of 199. Sophie Devine and Georgia Voll had both come close to doing what Sciver-Brunt did, but fell 1 run short.
