The right-arm seamer rattled the USA lower order, taking four wickets in a single over, including the hat-trick, to dismantle their innings for a paltry 115.
Well rested India to lock horns with old foes
India cricket team will have a complete rest day on Sunday ahead of their clash against Australia in a high-octane Super 8 tie in St. Lucia. The team travelled to St. Lucia from Antigua where they beat Bangladesh comfortably by 50 runs. This means India will have not have any optional practice session ahead of their tie with Marsh and co.
Afghanistan script history!
Afghanistan slayed the demons of that heartbreaking loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup with a 21-run victory over Mitchell Marsh’s side in the T20 World Cup’s Super 8 stage. Afghanistan, who needed a victory to stay in contention for a spot in the semi-final, overwhelmed the Australians with their attacking batting, on-spot bowling and enthusiastic fielding.
Did USA say no to Bravo?
West Indies cricket legend Dwayne Bravo offered his services to the USA Cricket team in the lead up to the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. To much of a surprise, the co-hosts rejected the proposal to become the bowling coach made by the undisputed hero of T20 cricket.
England in semi-final, SA vs WI now a quarter-final!
England needed a strong win to give themselves a chance to qualify for the semis. Oh Boy! They have done it with a statement. After bundling out USA for only 115, Jos Buttler’s masterclass of 38-ball 83* hammered England way through the total in just 9.4 overs. This has now taken England over South Africa and West Indies in Group 2 scenario. SA and WI will meet in a virtual quarter-final now.
GER atop, but Varga’s injury grabs attention!
In UEFA Euros, we entered the third round, where Germany and Switzerland played out a 1-1 draw, while Hungary’s late winner broke the Scottish hearts. The Group A ends with the hosts topping, and Scotland bidding adieu. However, Hungarian forward Bernabas Varga endued a sickening head collision that not only silenced the entire stadium but gave unfortunate reminisces of Christian Eriksen’s injury from Euro 2020.
