Perk’s comment seems to reflect something he said about himself in a recent episode of Road Trippin’. This came during a discussion on his recent controversy with LeBron James. The ex-Boston Celtics star had mentioned in his opinion on LeBron that he cannot be biased as an analyst. He emphasized he was not among the biggest of NBA stars but a role player, and he has earned his place in the media industry.
So he will have to be neutral in his opinions if he wants to grow at his job, the ex-Celtics star claimed. “Working at a network, if they feel like you’re being biased at any type way, especially coming from a guy that was a former role player in the league, your a** going to be on the chopping block,” Perk stated. He had a discussion regarding this with his First Take co-host Shannon Sharpe as well.
Notably, Kendrick Perkins had earlier alleged Bron was trying to weasel into Kyrie Irving’s special moment. Following this, the King unfollowed on him social media, and the news gained quite the traction. Sharpe’s opinion of this on First Take was people on social media should not be able to see others’ following list. So it’s evident Sharpe is actively involved in discussions on some major happenings through the ‘First Take’. And the stated multi-year deal with ESPN is likely to further his role with the network.
