When Blake Lively’s footsteps in reviving the rom-com genre landed in courtroom battles with Justin Baldoni, she was not the only one to round out the legal waters. Two other names, a little too close to Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift, followed suit. Reynolds and Lively may be ride-or-die, but Swift and the Gossip Girl alum just doubled down on the sister before misters pact with Page Six recently citing a source that negates reports about the pop star trying to distance herself from the mother of four.

In fact, the report also calls their allegedly “strained relationship” a false alarm. Swift did not engage in It Ends With Us’ promotional efforts by rolling up her sleeves, but she contributed in another way by lending her music to the soundtrack, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’ While Swift has yet to touch upon her best friend’s legal outings against Baldoni, she has time and again made it clear where her loyalty lies.

When things initially grew tense between the It Ends With Us stars, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni, fans worldwide saw it as a mere ego clash between colleagues. But upon the speculative tensions turning into a headline-grabbing lawsuit, Baldoni left no stone unturned in lining up his defense. According to his lawsuit filing, Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds allegedly strong-armed the director into accepting a creative change by Lively in the film. 

During pre-production, Lively reportedly wanted to “take a pass” on the film’s iconic rooftop scene. After his “exceedingly mild resistance,” the Gossip Girl actor “went silent for multiple days.” However, Lively later is said to have sent a text, pointing out Baldoni’s reaction to her rewrite “didn’t feel great” for her, or Reynolds, and what Baldoni referred to as “another mega-celebrity friend.” It was later revealed that the connotation was for Swift, who, for the first time, was named directly in the legal filings.
