Netflix’s streaming reign has given audiences a front-row seat to the frenzy it conquers in the contemporary period. To top that off, the OTT platform has often shown an edge over every counterpart in the rat race of giants. While the streamer was on a roll last year with one release eclipsing the popularity of the other, the streaming mogul is far from slowing down on its streak in 2025 with The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live making history with its streaming release on Netflix.
Having already turned a page with its festive stretch of content refresher from December to January, here is how The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live on Netflix is giving a second wind on the festive fervor to compensate for the holiday withdrawals.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the six episodic miniseries, marking the return of Rick and Michonne after they left the original show, recently set a new record for the franchise on Netflix. The Ones Who Live is positioned #2 on the streamer’s Top 10 TV Shows in the US Today list, right behind the highly anticipated and celebrated American Primeval. AMC has added nearly all of The Walking Dead shows to the streaming giant at some point.
The Ones Who Live, however, has been the only one to make history on Netflix. The limited miniseries boasts a raving 88% on Tomatometer with 80% on Popcornmeter to back its liking from critics and audiences alike. In fact, even IMDb has given it a promising 7.8/10 rating, reaffirming why it is the reigning number 2 on the streaming giant this week. The show premiered almost a year ago on February 25, 2024, on AMC and AMC+.
Netflix, however, got its hands on it only recently amidst its new year’s content additions. And before subscribers go on a brainstorming spree behind its popularity, here is the scoop on its cast, and plot.
