Black Friday is basically already here, and we’re seeing deals on the best phones get better and better as the all-important date of November 28 gets closer and closer.
Specifically, we’re now seeing some nice discounts on current-generation flagship phones, and while the best iPhones rarely see any big price cuts over the Black Friday period, it’s a different story with the best Android phones.
UK deals
The Samsung Galaxy S25 is also discounted in the US, where you can get it for $674.99 (was $799.99) at Amazon. The Google Pixel 10 can be had for $699 (was $899) at Amazon.
US deals
While these aren’t the biggest phone deals we’ll see this Black Friday, it’s likely we’ll see better deals coming in on these rival Android flagships as the sales season continues. And as some of the most widely available and best-equipped Android phones, both handsets are a likely choice for potential phone buyers.
With that said, there are some key differences between the two phones that could determine which is the right choice for you. Keep reading for a breakdown of which Android flagship is the best pick.
A hardware head-to-head
When it comes to hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S25 comes equipped with more powerful internals than the Google Pixel 10, but the contest is closer when it comes to photography.
That’s because the Galaxy S25 comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, considered the best of the best when it comes to Android silicon.
The Pixel 10, for comparison, comes with the Google Tensor G5 chipset, which is no slouch but can’t match the Galaxy in terms of processing speed.
However, the camera systems of each phone present a closer contest. The Galaxy S25 comes with a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom relative to the main lens. The Pixel 10 comes with a 50MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide camera, and 10.8MP telephoto camera, this time with 5x relative zoom.
That puts the question down to user preference more than anything else – some would say the Galaxy S25’s 3x lens is better for portraits than the Pixel 10’s 5x lens, though the latter gives you better quality at long zoom ranges. You can check our in-depth Samsung Galaxy S25 review and Google Pixel 10 review for camera samples to help you decide.
As for build and battery, both phones are made of a combination of glass and aluminum and offer a premium look and feel. The Google Pixel 10 comes out on top in terms of battery capacity, at 4,970mAh compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25’s 4,000mAh cell.
And when it comes to software, both phones run a version of Android, so you’re looking at deep Google integration, Google’s Gemini AI, and solid customization options in the settings. Samsung’s One UI 8 is well known for its expansive settings and clean layout, while the Google Pixel’s Material You design language stays close to base Android with some subtle aesthetic flair.
I’d stick with the Galaxy S25
Personally, if I had to choose between these two Android flagships this Black Friday, I’d go with the Samsung Galaxy S25.
Its more powerful chipset makes this phone a better choice as a long-term investment – I’m a big advocate of using your phone for as long as possible, so the Snapdragon 8 Elite seems like the best option for forthcoming software updates.
Additionally, Samsung has proven time and again that it knows how to get the best from a mobile camera system, and the Galaxy S25 is no exception.
However, I’m also a big advocate for big batteries, so the Google Pixel 10 is a tempting alternative. With that said, I find myself feeling like 3x zoom is more useful overall than 5x zoom, and the less powerful Tensor G5 chipset would be a worry in later years of use.
So, of the two, my recommendation is the Galaxy S25 – but this also depends on price point, but solid discounts on the Pixel 10 make is rather appealing. In general, both phones are very good so you can’t go wrong getting either at a cut price.
