Elon courts the audience! Beaming Tesla billionaire poses for selfies with tennis fans as he watches US Open final

Elon Musk was spotted grinning as he posed for selfies with fans while attending the US Open Tennis Championships in New York.

The Tesla CEO, 53, donned a black shirt and blazer as he watched the Men’s Singles Final Match at Arthur Ashe Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing, yesterday.

Leaning forward over a barrier, the multi-billionaire flashed a toothy smile while excited fans raised their phones in an effort to snap a picture with him.

He grinned into their cameras as the match between Jannik Sinner, 23, and Taylor Fritz, 26, played on – in a high-stakes game that saw Italy‘s Sinner take the crown.

In other images from the sporting event, Musk was seen sitting next to Bobby Kotick – the former CEO of Activision – in a front row seat as the pair chatted and laughed.

The tech mogul, in his VIP box, was also spotted standing with his hands buried in his pockets and a serious expression on his face as he watched the game intently.

The audience seemed to not be disturbing him from in front of the barriers as he chatted with Kotick until he stood up for the picture opportunity.

The game on Sunday ended with Sinner becoming the fourth man to win the Australian Open and US Open on hard courts in the same season – after Mats Wilander, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

He scored a comfortable 6-3 6-4 7-5 victory on the patriotic stadium after a defeated Fritz had been gunning to become the first male American champion of the US Open since Andy Roddick won in 2003.

One week before the start of the US Open, Sinner announced that he had tested positive for the banned substance clostebol in April before an independent tribunal ruled that he bore no fault or negligence for the presence of the substance in his body.

Sinner said he felt ‘more pressure’ in New York than he did when he won his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January.

‘Here it was difficult because also the pre-tournament circumstances weren’t easy,’ Sinner said.

‘I felt like that I have grown, you know, match by match and that my confidence level went higher and higher at some point.’

Musk’s appearance at the US Open Final came as he was revealed to be on track to becoming the world’s first trillionaire, according to a new report

Musk’s appearance at the US Opens comes after the billionaire entrepreneur last year warned the tennis world of a threat that should be taken very seriously.

According to Musk, pickleball is on track to ‘crush’ tennis in popularity after it gained attention during the Covid19 pandemic.

Yesterday, a new global wealth report revealed Musk is on track to becoming the world’s first trillionaire by 2027.

He is currently the world’s richest person with a net worth of $251billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index.

A new report by Informa Connect Academy revealed Musk’s wealth has been growing at a staggering average rate of 110 per cent a year.

This means that if the Tesla CEO’s wealth continues to climb at the same rate – he could be crowned the world’s first trillionaire within the next three years, according to the findings.

Musk also recently said astronauts could land on Mars within four years as NASA faces pressure over its delayed plans to land on the moon.

His SpaceX is set to launch its first uncrewed Starships to the Red Planet in two years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens- to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars.

If the tests prove unsuccessful, SpaceX, which Musk founded in 2022, will launch crewed flights to Mars in four years.
