Fans worry major high street fashion chain has been HACKED in hilarious TikToks after brand’s latest range fails to hit the mark

Fans of fashion brand Zara have been left wondering if the high street retailer has been hacked after its latest range failed to hit the mark.

The company’s latest Icons collection has raised eyebrows as embroidered shirts and balloon shirt dresses are being sold on their website for prices ranging from £229 to £349.

A number of people have taken to TikTok to blast the collection, with one account hilariously saying that there is ‘no one iconic on this planet that is wearing this’.

Having been made available on September 12 – Zara’s latest collection features five tops, each one a ‘creative take on the classic shirt’, alongside a set of shoes in three different colours.

After the items were released on the brand’s website, fashion TikToker Perrie Sian released a video in which she provided a scathing review on the new items, describing one as looking like ‘something my mum wore in the 60s’.

When discussing the embroidered sleeveless Performer Shirt, available for £349, the Tiktoker said: ‘£349 GBP to look like something my mum wore in the 60s. Me no comprendo at what the f*** is going on.

‘There is no one iconic on this planet that is wearing this. The only person that would wear this and get away with it is Elton John. It needs to go… I would love to know what their profit margin is because I’m pretty sure if you gave me a needle, thread and some beads I could cut up a shirt and make this myself.’

Ms Sian also slammed Zara’s new £289 balloon shirt dress, which has detachable sleeves from its bubble hem, claiming it was ‘something my great, great, great, great, great nan’ would wear.

Speaking to her 722,000 followers, she said: ‘This piece of dirty bed sheet is 289 Great British pounds. Who in their right mind is going on Zara and going ‘I know, I’m going to spend £289 on something that looks like my great, great, great, great, great nan wore back in the day when she went out on a date with my great, great, great, great, great grandad. Are you actually ok Zara? Are you well?’

Theinfluencer was also ‘confused, shocked and alarmed’ by the £229 tulle button-up Daydreaming shirt, adding: ‘I just don’t get it £229 smackaroonies and you can get a shirt that looks like a 2-year-old made it in their local nursery arts and crafts class. What is it? What does it mean?

‘Where is the Zara that we know? This is not it! Who has hacked Zara?’

It wasn’t just the new shirts which faced criticism, as the brand’s flat leather sandals were blasted as looking like ‘something a child could make’.

Ms Sian said: ‘Apparently Icons can only wear shoes that literally look like they give you zero support and as soon as you step out in them, you are going to fall to the floor and break your f****** nose. I’m sorry what are those? They are the flattest shoes I have ever seen in my entire life…. It actually looks like something a child could make?’

The shirts are priced higher than the retailer’s typical pieces having come from a dedicated Zara Icons studio that ‘focuses on seasonal creative projects’.

Timed to coincide with the end of New York Fashion Week, the Zara Icons campaign was shot by Annie Leibovitz at the legendary New York recording studio Electric Lady, and features model Karen Elson.

The brand had aimed to provide a new range of clothes which people could use for the office, night out or a special occasion.

But so far fans have been left confused by the range, with a number of people expressing their shock in the comment section on Ms Sian’s TikTok.

One said: ‘Who’s going to Zara to spend £300 on ONE item ! Why are they trying to be high end’

Another commented: ‘Primark and Zara disappointing us left right and centre.’, while a third wrote: ‘What the hell, i aint spending that amount on Zara.. i’d prefer to get something designer.’

MailOnline have approached Zara for comment.
