Steve-O says he’s planning to get breast implants for two months for a comedic bit.
The TV star, 50, whose full name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, spoke Wednesday about the endeavor on the podcast X5, explaining his frame of mind in pursuing the body modification.
‘I came up with the idea a few years ago to get a boob job,’ Steve-O said, ‘and just film a bunch of legitimately funny hidden camera pranks with me in disguise, in various disguises, and then revealing who I actually am, and just funny endurance stunts, and whatever.’
Steve-O, who shot to fame on the MTV series Jackass, said he thinks that the surgery and resultant pranks would elevate his brand of performance art to a new level.
‘I’ve been so particularly in love with that idea,’ he said, ‘because the comedy, the opportunity for comedy I believe is absolutely there, and it’s like the quintessential Steve-O – that level of commitment.’

Steve-O said that he has scheduled the surgery with doctors and had extensive meetings about what undergoing the surgery entails.
He said he will keep the implants for ‘two months, then they’re coming out.’
Steve-O said he has expressed his concerns to doctors about the long-term impact of the medical procedure.
‘I spoke with the doctors, and I said to them candidly, “The one thing I’m really freaked out about, and bummed out about, and would back out of this over, is if I’m just gonna be a mess afterwards,”‘ he said.
He said his medical professionals he met with reassured him there would be no long-term effects of the surgery under the timeline involved.
‘You know, it’s going under the muscle, and the doctors are completely unfazed, like, “Two months, it comes out, absolutely no issue,”‘ Steve-O said.
An October 2018 report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons stated that ‘most surgeons agree that a full recovery can take on average six weeks or so’ and that the most intense side effects subside after about a week.

Steve-O chat with the podcast about past efforts he’s taken as ‘a body modification guy,’ including a tattoo on his back and a piercing on his behind.
‘Body modification has been part of my f***ing deal,’ he said. ‘It’s been a lane in my art since the beginning. And this level of commitment to this bit, how nuts it is – I believe in it, and I’m gonna go ahead and do it.’
Steve-O previously expressed his interest in pursing the surgical procedure in an October 2022 chat with Dr. Mike.
He said at the time: ‘There’s a healthy dose of ‘My body, my choice’ in there, which I believe in.
‘There’s some straight curiosity that as a heterosexual man who identifies as male – does a boob job mean I can’t post pictures on Instagram with my shirt off?’
