Olivia Munn and John Mulaney in ‘total bliss’ after welcoming baby girl via surrogate

They welcomed their second child, a daughter, via surrogate earlier this month.

And Olivia Munn and her husband John Mulaney are ‘in total bliss’ with their newly-expanded family.

The couple, who also share son Malcolm, recently became a family of four following the September 14 arrival of their daughter Méi June Mulaney.

An insider gave insight into the new parents of two, telling People that John, 42, and Olivia, 44, are ‘in total bliss with Méi and Malcolm.’

‘After everything they have been through there’s no tighter, closer little family,’ the insider added.

The couple announced the arrival of Méi June Mulaney on their Instagram accounts on Sunday with photos of the newborn.

‘Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,’ Olivia, 44, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, captioned the post.

‘I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.

‘I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese.’

Mulaney announced her arrival with his own post, sharing the same images along with an adorable video of him burping the newborn as she lay against his shoulder.

‘Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,’ he captioned the post.

‘We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.

The sweet photos they shared also included a snap of Malcolm, wearing a rocket outfit, as his mother doted on him. His father held Méi as he enjoyed their waterfront views.

Olivia and John began dating in 2021 before tying the knot over the summer in an intimate ceremony.

The former Newsroom star revealed in March of this year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023, and since then she has undergone multiple surgeries – including a double mastectomy and hysterectomy – with the treatment putting her into medically induced menopause.

She previously revealed she had frozen her eggs and undergone egg retrieval in the hopes of expanding her family with John.

In an exclusive interview with Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, the X-Men: Apocalypse actress confirmed that she made the decision to go through a round of egg retrieval because she and John ‘weren’t done growing our family.’

‘John and I talked about it. Right after the double mastectomy I went through a round of egg retrieval. That’s scary because I have a cancer that feeds off of hormones so I knew there was a risk,’ Olivia explained to Michael, whose daughter Isabella was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in October 2023.

‘Our doctor said, “look, we’re going to get one for you and then we’re going to call it”. Then the doctor called and he said, “hey, we got the results back, it’s two healthy embryos”. We just started bawling crying, both of us.’

‘I really just hope it works out for us to have another baby. We just want one more. I’m not going to ask for too much more in this life, I promise. I just want one more baby,’ Olivia said.

Referring to the treatment, the mother-of-one continued: ‘The hormone suppression therapy is brutal. It gave me next level debilitating exhaustion, I was in bed all day long, all day long. My quality of life was so minimal. I wasn’t able to be there for my baby.’

When Michael asked if Malcolm had ‘noticed a change’ in his mother, Olivia replied: ‘Yeah. I mean, whenever Malcolm would come home, he would run to my bed because that’s where he knows I am.

‘That’s what he associated with me, that was just too difficult for me to take. I had to find out if there was another option so I opted to do the hysterectomy with the ovariectomy. Almost immediately after that my energy just came back full force,’ she added.
