A teenage girl was shocked when she found out she was pregnant at just 15 years old after first thinking she was suffering from lactose intolerance.
Sophia Kadmiri, from Santa Cruz, California, fell pregnant with her son while she was still in school.
Often feeling sick and tired in the mornings, Sophia, now 16, put her troubles down to a dairy intolerance that she’d been battling for years.
However, as the sickness continued, it became apparent to Sophia and her boyfriend that she was in fact pregnant.
‘I basically didn’t think I was pregnant at all,’ she explained in a TikTok video.

‘I had been very sick and tired all the time and didn’t think anything of it, I thought what was going on was because I was eating a ton of dairy and I’ve always had a dairy intolerance.’
Attending a private Christian school and often having perfect grades, Sophia shocked her friends and family when she revealed that she was to become a mother.
Despite having some reservations at first, the teen soon fell in love with the idea of raising a child.
Worried at what the reaction would be like from their family, the young parents eventually plucked up the courage to reveal the big news.
Sophie decided to tell her grandmother first and waited until she left the house to send her a text message.
Wanting to make sure the pregnancy was legitimate, her grandmother went straight to the store and got Sophia a test, which turned out to be positive.
Although the original reaction from her family was disappointment, Sophia and her boyfriend were pushed into being more responsible and given a chance to step up.
Despite her boyfriend having worries about telling his own parents, they were very supportive as his own mother went through a teen pregnancy herself.
