The fourth edition of the WPL will commence on January 9 in Navi Mumbai with the 2024 champs battling it out with the 2025 winners.
The fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kick off tomorrow in Navi Mumbai. With all the players reshuffled after the mega auction, no one knows which franchise will be the favourite to lift the trophy on February 5.
Delhi Capitals have released Meg Lanning, who took them to 3 consecutive finals. Deepti Sharma was let go by UP Warriorz. She was bought back at the auction but wasn’t handed the captaincy. Jemimah Rodrigues has been handed the leadership. It’ll be fascinating to see how these changes shape up.

Injury updates & replacements
Luckily for teams, injury hasn’t played a part yet. However, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and UP Warriorz have been forced to make 3 changes. Australian all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland have withdrawn from the tournament for personal reasons. Sayali Satghare and Alana King have replaced them. USA fast bowler Tara Norris has pulled out of WPL 2026 due to national commitments, and Charli Knott has taken her place.
