Meet the glamorous German WAGs cheering on the squad against Scotland tonight – from a TV presenter and model to an architect with her own huge Instagram following

Euro 2024 kicks off tonight, with Germany taking on Scotland in the very first clash of the competition.

And while most of the attention will be turned to the players on the pitch, many will be interested to see the glamorous WAGs cheering on their partners.

During the World Cup in Germany in 2006, when then-England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson allowed the players’ partners to attend the matches, peak WAG was reached, with photos of the 22 women – including Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham and Abbey Clancy – causing a furore.

And the WAGs supporting the German squad at tonight’s match is just as glamorous, with an architect, TV presenter and model, and equestrian among the players’ partners.

Here, FEMAIL reveals some of the women who will be cheering on their football playing beaus at tonight’s Euro 2024 fixture… 

DANI TER STEGEN

Married to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who plays for Barcelona as well as his national team, Dani ter Stegen is considered one of Germany’s most popular WAGs.

Thought to be 30-years-old, Dani, who is originally from The Netherlands, is well-travelled, having reportedly spent a year studying in California.

In addition, she lived in Mönchengladbach when her goalie husband played for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Then, in 2014, the couple moved to Spain, when he signed for La Liga team Barcelona.  Once there, Dani enrolled in college in order to complete her studies in architecture (a good city to study the city, which is famed for its unique Gaudi buildings).

Marc-Andre and Dani started dating in 2012, and got engaged in 2017, announcing the good news in a Facebook Live video.

They tied the knot just months later, in a quiet and intimate ceremony, in front of a small group of friends and family.

In 2019, Dani gave birth to their first child – a son named Ben. They announced the birth of their second child, another boy who they named Tom, in February this year.

Dani, who has some 600,000 followers on Instagram, shares photos of her glamorous family lifestyle on the platform, posting images from events and holidays, as well as pictures of her family.

CANDICE BROOK

American model Candice Brook first crossed paths with Leroy Sane, who plays for Bayern Munich as well as Germany, in 2017, according to reports.

The couple, who now share two children – Rio Stella and Milo – soon went public with their relationship.

As well as modelling, Candice is also a singer, and she appeared on 2016 reality TV show About the Business.

Describing the programme, IMDB says it features a ‘tight knit, glamorous group of Hollywood professionals [who] find themselves constantly blurring the lines between work, play and personal relationships’.

Aged 35, Candice is almost a decade older than her husband, who is 27-years-old.

The family moved to Munich when Leroy signed for the club in 2020, following a four-year stint at Manchester City.

There, she was credited with helping the team, as Harry Kane did not speak German, so German-born Leroy’s English – learnt because it’s his wife’s mother tongue – helped the two players build a working relationship.

SARA GUNDOGAN

Model and TV personality Sara Arfaoui, 29, is married to Ilkay Gundogan, who was Manchester City’s club captain before moving to La Liga team Barcelona in 2023.

The midfielder was named as Germany’s captain in September 2023, which he described as a ‘big honour’.

His model and TV presenter wife Sara, who was born in France, moved to Italy as a child.  

The couple met in 2021 and got engaged later the same year.

They announced that they had tied the knot in May 2022, via Instagram.

Their posts suggested they had a private registry office ceremony, with the location tagged as Copenhagen, Denmark. Since tying the knot, the couple has welcomed one child.  

While jet-setting 29-year-old Sara seems to enjoy globetrotting, she has been less than totally complimentary about Manchester.

She has come in for criticism from fans of the city, after claiming that there is no good food to be found there.

Among those admonishing her for her comments, was food critic Jay Rayner who said she had shared a ‘ludicrous point of view’, adding that ‘Manchester’s packed full of brilliant, independent restaurants’.

However, since leaving the northern city for Spain, she has reportedly said that she misses the area.

LISA MULLER 

Lisa Muller is another WAG who is known in her own right, as famous dressage rider in Germany

Thomas Muller, who plays for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the German national team, is married to Lisa Muller.

As well as being the wife of an extremely famous and popular footballer, Lisa is famous in her own right. 

The 34-year-old is a very well-known dressage ride in her home country of Germany.

Thomas and Lisa, who met in 2007, before tying the knot in 2009, did not have any children as of October 2023.

At that time, the footballer was reportedly asked whether he planned to start a family, and allegedly said: ‘Have a child? I am very busy; it is hard to be a footballer and a full-time dad.’

On top of their respective careers, the couple is reported to own a successful business named ‘EU Insemination Station’, which sells horse semen online.

KATHARINA RAUM  

Not much is known about Katharina Raum, who married RB Leipzig and Germany player David Raum last Summer

The wife RB Leipzig left-back David Raum is Katharina Raum, about whom little is known.

According to Spanish news outlet La Marca, the couple tied the knot during the Summer of 2023. 

While few details are known about Katharina’s private life, she does share images of her glamorous lifestyle on Instagram. 

Katharina has almost 8,000 followers on the social media platform.

Among the photos she has shared, are some snaps from her wedding, as well as holiday photos from trips to Ibiza, Maldives and Mykonos among others.

Katharina appears to be a highly supportive wife, and is often seen watching matches from the stands, wearing a Germany top. 

SOPHIA WEBER 

Sophia Weber (pictured) is engaged to Arsenal player Kai Havertz who is also part of Germany’s squad

German-born Sophia Weber is among the most high-profile German WAGS, with a following of more than 400,000 fans on Instagram. 

She met Kai Havertz, who plays for Arsenal as well as Germany, when they were both young and growing up in the same area.

Their friendship turned into a romantic relationship in 2018.

However, despite being together for six years, the pair have largely managed to avoid the spotlight.

German-born beauty Sophia revealed she had got engaged to Kai last year, when she shared the news via a sweet post on Instagram in July.

JESSICA KROOS

Jessica is married to Germany’s Tony Kroos, who has also played for Greifswalder SC and Real Madrid.

The couple wed in 2015, after dating for a few years.

Speaking about their relationship, Jessica once revealed that ‘it wasn’t love at first sight’ when they first met aged 20 (her) and 18 (him).

But, she added: ‘He is a wonderful man. Shortly afterwards, we met in Germany and began to be together.’

Toni is the subject of the 2019 documentary Kroos, which was directed by Manfred Oldenburg.

Jessica was also in the film, alongside the three children the couple share. She describes them coming across ‘like an old married couple’ in the documentary.

While she has 229,000 followers on Instagram, Jessica is not a very prolific poster, and doesn’t share images very regularly.

However, when she does, they are often images of her husband and family, though she usually avoids showing her children’s faces.
