How to smell like Prada or YSL on a budget: Lidl launches new line of designer fragrance dupes for just £6.99

Do you yearn for the floral scent of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge or Prada’s Paradoxe, but struggle to justify the price tag?

Lidl‘s new range of dupe perfumes might have you covered, with the German retailer launching a new line of perfumes said to smell just like designer alternatives – but for a fraction of the price.

The 100ml perfumes, which are on sale from Thursday, cost £6.99 each and can save shoppers hundreds compared to branded alternatives.

Suddenly Barracuda Eau De Parfum boasts a sweet, fruity aroma that draws comparisons to Baccarat Rouge 540, without the £420.75 price tag.

Also in the range is Enigma, a multi-dimensional fragrance with an amber-vanilla base, much like Prada’s Paradoxe but £138 cheaper.

Yves Saint Laurent lovers are also in luck, because Lidl’s range includes a perfume much like the French fashion house’s Libre, which retails at £127.

Called Freesia, the perfume with a memorable scent inspired by roses makes the perfect beauty addition ahead of spring.

Men are also accounted for in the range with the clean, crisp Classic Blue, which promises out-of-the-shower freshness all day long – and resembles Dior’s famous £90.95 Sauvage.

It comes after beauty lovers raved about a £13 body mist from Boots – and the brand might surprise you.

In-the-know shoppers are swapping their expensive perfumes for the adidas Vibes’ Hair & Body Mists.

Introduced last summer, the first-of-its-kind mist collection boasts five scents proven to enhance the mood and evoke positive emotions.

Earning rave reviews, with users declaring they’re ‘in love’ with the affordable scents, this could be a brilliant discovery of 2026.

Adidas perfumes were one of the most surprising breakthrough beauty discoveries at Boots last year.

While adidas is not the first brand you picture when thinking of perfume, the sports brand has driven seriously impressive reviews with users raving about the new scents, which are now available in a handy body spray.

A lighter, gentler scent payoff than a perfume, the mists are proving to be a good option for casual day wear or for the gym, and as they’re affordably priced at just £13, they can be used daily.

Described by the brand as ’empowering, uplifting, and effortlessly cool’, there are five scents available, each proven to enhance the mood and evoke positive emotions.

Whatever your preferred scent profile, Adidas has created a perfume mist to cover the main fragrance types. The Adidas Vibes Fragrance Hair & Body Mist in Happy Feels is both floral and zesty with grapefruit and jasmine notes.

If you prefer something a little more sweet and cosy, then Get Comfy is made with warming vanilla and peony notes, Dream Glaze taps into the edible gourmand trend with hazelnut and cocoa notes, and Spark Up is ready for the summer with mango and zesty lemon notes.

While promising to include a ‘high concentration of scent’, these body mists are still lighter than your typical eau de parfum, so are ideally suited to everyday wear.

Boots shoppers who have tried the Adidas hair and body mists have agreed with how the scent lasts decently for a body mist, better than a lot of others in the same price range, but it’s not as long-lasting as a full perfume.

Of the Happy Feels fragrance, one Boots shopper raved: ‘Such a fun, uplifting scent! It’s light and fresh, perfect for everyday wear, and makes both my hair and body smell great without feeling heavy.

‘Gives an instant mood boost and lasts surprisingly well for a mist. Definitely adding it to my go-to routine!’.
