DRS July 7: No Sanju Samson for IND vs ZIM T20Is, Shivam Dube replaces Nitish Reddy, Women’s T20 World Cup team of tournament


Sanju Samson, along with a host of other stars, has been left out of the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series that Zimbabwe which is scheduled to begin later this month. The squad announcement came a day before the ENG vs IND 3rd T20I for which England have already announced their playing XI. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has failed to recover in time for the ODI series and will be replaced by Shivam Dube. Sanju Samson dropped?

The BCCI has announced the India men’s cricket team’s squad for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Zimbabwe away from home. Seven players – Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna – who were part of the ongoing Ireland and England tours are out of the team. Shivam Dube replaces Nitish Reddy in ODIs

The BCCI made a change in India’s ODI squad for the England series; all-rounder Shivam Dube comes in for the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy. The 23-year-old has still not recovered from his quadriceps injury, sustained during the 3rd Afghanistan ODI, and it is still not clear, as to when he will be back in action. Nitish Kumar Reddy had a golden opportunity to cement his place in the ODI side, in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who too is currently injured, and completing his rehab at the CoE, in Bengaluru. Nonetheless, it was clear that the Andhra all-rounder would miss the upcoming series. Read more here.

England playing XI for ENG vs IND 3rd T20I

ECB has announced England’s cricket team’s playing eleven for the third game of the 5-match T20I series against the India cricket team. Jofra Archer, who was rested for the first game, will continue to play as England look to take a 2-0 lead in the series at Edgbaston.  In the last match, Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood went out for Josh Tongue, who made his T20I debut, and Archer. Ravi Bishnoi’s no-ball problem

India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has garnered a lot of criticism for his poor returns in the 2nd India-England T20I, where he ended up conceding 60 runs in his 4 overs. What was even more troublesome is, he bowled a couple of backfoot no-balls, that changed the complexion of the match.
