In a fantasy tale in the vibrant heart of New York, the Russo family graced the scene, weaving their enchanting magic to transform the mundane into the extraordinary. Little did they realize that a spell they cast long ago would come full circle decades later with Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Although that humble sandwich shop witnessed more than even Harry Potter’s arcane territory could, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’s recent premiere sparkled with nostalgia as Tinseltown’s finest conjured glamour, draped in couture that felt like a wizard’s spell book come to life.
While that is what the wizardly dreams are made of, these spellcasters even swapped their magic wands for their stunning ensembles, and here is a look at the seven most eye-catching outfits that were magic themselves.
Selena Gomez

Despite making black her go-to red carpet palette this season for Emilia Pérez, Selena Gomez knew exactly where her magic needed to work its charm at Disney’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. So, when the night called for a splash of color, she ditched the dark and brought a fiery, spellbinding red. On Monday at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, Gomez styled by Erin Walsh, made her entrance for the show’s premiere in a sparkling red sequined strapless bodice, featuring a structured sweetheart plunging neckline with a criss-cross design that felt both daring and chic.
The red mid-length sequin skirt carried through with peplum details that echoed the neckline, adding an extra layer of drama to the look. But what stole the spotlight? Showing up to vote in the dress before the big premiere, the newly minted billionaire cast a bit of real-world magic, blending her off-screen influence with her on-screen enchantment.
Alongside her, a Russo’s brother capitalized on the wizardry just as much.
David Henrie
Like sister, like brother! If Selena Gomez did not leave any stone unturned for her couture magic to speak for itself, how could David Henrie step back? Keeping it chic and cool, Henrie complimented Gomez’s fiery appearance in a laid-back deep blue tuxedo, paired with a white shirt underneath with matching kicks.
Although his dapper vibes were not exactly reminiscent of the Justin fans knew in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, what was familiar was his style sprinkling just enough the spell to swoon over the Russo brother and sister as they hugged it out on the premiere carpet. On the tuxedo front, it was not just the guys on the carpet—some of the ladies were bringing their own magic to the classic look, too.
Hayley Kiyoko
The red carpet has always been the fashion mecca for stars to either revive the classics or bring their couture twists to them. But Hayley Kiyoko may have nailed something not many could have at the Los Angeles premiere of the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Kiyoko arrived in the City of Angels channeling the ultimate gentle(wo)manly charm, rocking a timeless black tuxedo and a black tie paired with a crisp white shirt—tucked on one side and artfully cascading over plaid shorts, complete with edgy pocket chains.
Known for casting her spell of unconventional glamour on the red carpet, the style maven finished her look with a sleek black purse, matching stilettos, and a pair of white socks for that final, unexpected twist.
Monique Coleman
At the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premiere, Hayley Kiyoko was not the only one ditching classic red-carpet glam for something bold and unexpected. Monique Coleman stepped onto the scene in a look that was redefining carpet chic: a head-to-toe black ensemble featuring edgy leather shorts! She wore a sheer black top with a bralette underneath, layered under a thigh-length blazer.
The real showstopper, however, was those sleek, above-the-knee leather shorts paired with lace-up flats that crisscrossed up her calves. Instead of piling on jewelry, the High School Musical star kept it simple with silver hoops, letting her violet dreadlocks provide the perfect pop of color for the premiere theme. Hence, as they say, the carpet magic was truly served.
Gregg Sulkin
Alongside the other red carpet sorcerers, if anyone conjured the fashion gods for keeping it cool, but unique was Gregg Sulkin. Stepping away from the usual red-and-black power moves, Sulkin tapped into last year’s trend with a pastel twist to match the red-carpet theme at the Los Angeles premiere of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
It was, however, his tuxedo that truly conjured some new-age magic—it was not the classic, sleek fit we see stars rocking on high-glam nights. Instead, Sulkin’s look was a sky blue boxy tuxedo buttoned from the chest to below the waist, paired with matching trousers that dared to be different.
The ensemble gave a nod to Paul Mescal’s look at this year’s Annual Academy Museum Gala and was absolutely ready to join the archives of the tuxedo gods with Hayley Kiyoko.
Janice LeAnn Brown
While many were busy putting their chic tweak on the tuxedo, Janice LeAnn Brown confided to Selena Gomez for the fashion pointers of the night and switched to the sequin glam. Brown sported a high-neck sequined gown in purple-hued radiance with matching flats and complementary white nails.
Though she fit in perfectly with the premiere theme of purple, the pastel magic owned by Gregg Sulkin also found a sparkly nod in her attire. As for the accessories, the starlet kept it minimal with a pair of diamond earrings danging behind her shoulder-length hair.
Corbin Bleu and Sasha Clements

The Wizards of Waverly Place premiere turned into a high-stakes fashion spell-off with Corbin Bleu setting the style bar high again in a tuxedo twist. Rocking a white satin shirt under a plaid tweed blazer by Atelier Cillian, Bleu leveled up the game of matching shorts, calf-high socks, and loafers. And Bleu literally conjured some next-level detail with a string garter action going on.
Meanwhile, Sasha Clements brought her own enchantment in a Marta Miljanic monochromatic dress, complete with a dramatic asymmetrical cut and black lace weaving through the white midsection. She finished the look with killer pointy stilettos, sheer stockings, and a pearl-adorned satin pouch that sparkled with charm. Both their accessories were by Sterling Forever and the stylist, Benjamin Holtrop. Wizards may have been expected, but this fashion magic? Not even Merlin must have seen it coming.
