‘For the first time I get to talk about the fact that there will be a season five,’ she told presenter Rebecca Jarvis on Good Morning America.

‘We all just found out ourselves, so this is brand new for everyone. I’m very excited.’

Emily in Paris season four part two arrived on September 12 and followed Emily as she gallivanted around the Italian capital of Rome.

Speaking of the new location, Lily revealed her hopes that she and the rest of the crew get to see more of Italy next season.

‘We explore Rome and I’m really hoping that for season five now that we get more of Italy,’ she said.

‘We had just the best time. The whole cast felt a little bit like Emily did season one running around the city wide eyed and just everything was just so exciting.’

She also lifted the lid on what it was like to work with first lady of France Brigitte Macron after she made a cameo appearance in the show’s fourth series.

‘It was a huge honor,’ she said. ‘It was also so surprising that she really loves the show and that she really wanted to be a part of it.

‘She invited Darren [Star] and I to have a conversation with her a couple of years ago about the show and what it’s done for France and for Paris.

‘She took her cameo in part one season one with jest and humor and we all found a way for her to be a part of it and come to set and she improv’d and it was, she and her improv made it of the show.’

The latest series followed the dramatic events of the misbegotten wedding of Camille, played by Camille Razat, and Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo.

In part one, Emily still had strong feelings for Gabriel and Lucien Laviscount’s Alfie. But Gabriel was expecting a baby with his ex Camille, and Alfie’s worst fears about Emily and Gabriel had been confirmed.

‘Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of,’ a synopsis read.

‘As old patterns clash with new complications, Emily feels drawn to a potential new love interest… and a new city.’

In part two, Emily’s flight back to Chicago is cancelled.

And even though there’s no place like home for the holidays, she is stuck spending Christmas Eve with Gabriel and Camille’s family in Megève.

Emily’s new love interest Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, makes his arrival soon after, and, following their first date in Paris, she goes to visit him in Rome.

The finale concludes with a great new opportunity for Emily: leading a Rome based office which Sylvie encourages Emily to take, not only to stay in beautiful Italy but to be closer to her new man.
