Steamy movie scenes have a reputation for making more adventurous sex acts seem like a good idea.
Think 50 Shades Darker, where Hollywood hunk Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson get it on as they’re pelted with water in the shower.
But now, thousands have taken to social media to issue a word to the wise about about participating in adventurous sexcapades — revealing the intimate acts they’d never do again.
An online forum published on social media site Reddit named, ‘what’s something sexual that you are NEVER doing again?’ has attracted more than 40 million members, with some saying their risky sex practice resulted in serious health complications.
Three adventurous habits come out on top as the most dangerous — one of which is practiced by half of British adults, according to surveys.

Spilling the beans on their intimate misfortunes, forum users ranked sex in the shower, on the beach and even the woods among the top three acts never to explore.
The majority of the commentors said shower sex should come with a health warning, with many recalling times when they’d almost passed out while engaged in the act.
‘Shower sex bent over made me dizzy like I’d pass out,’ wrote one, while another said, ‘I actually DID pass out during shower sex. Never again.’
Others said the lack of space is a health hazard with one user claiming he fractured his ribs during shower sex, and hit his head on a ceramic shelf.
It is not surprising that romps in the shower can make you feel lightheaded and even faint.
Vasovagal syncope, the most common types of fainting, occurs when your blood pressure suddenly drops, temporarily depriving the brain of oxygen, and it results in the person falling unconscious.
It occurs when the vagus nerve, which regulates heart rate and blood vessel constriction, temporarily loses normal regulation due to overstimulation.
As a result, the blood vessels widen, blood pressure drops, and your heart rate may also drop or even pause for a few seconds.
Many factors can cause this type of fainting, including after an orgasm — if you lie down or feel a rush of emotions that increase the risk of vagus nerve overstimulation.
Using drugs during sex may also play a role.
While it is rarely a fatal or a deadly condition, you are advised to seek medical help if it occurs frequently.
Regular sex in the shower can also cause irritation to the genitalia as it washes away the natural lubrication. It increases the risks of transferring infections.
Experts have long cautioned that semen, vaginal fluids, and other body fluids may not wash away completely, making it possible to contract sexually transmitted infections (STIs) during shower sex.

Users also took to Reddit to caution against sex on the beach. ‘It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere’, wrote one account.
A second added: ‘Extremely high risk of UTI afterward too.’
While urinary tract infections are common all year round, research suggests the frequency with which women experience them increases in the summer months.

Beach sand can also contain 100 times the levels of fecal bacteria as seawater, according to a study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.
Next on the list was sex in a forest or woods, due to the skin injuries that may come from rolling around in sticks and nettles.
One user said they’d been forced to visit hospital after having sex outdoors.
‘Sex in the woods in the dark…worst experience I’ve ever had. We ended up on the ground … next morning I had blisters the side of eggs on my knees and forearms from POISON OAK …. I had to go to the hospital it was so bad.’
Another responded: ‘This sounds like my experience with it.
‘It’s the worst. I had scabs that were the size of eggs after the rash and ridiculously thick. I literally had the scars for years.’
When in contact with the skin, the sap oil from poisonous plants including poison oak can cause an allergic reaction, such as a red rash, swelling and itching.
According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, in ‘severe cases’ or if the rash is on the face or genitals, seek professional medical attention.
