Meghan Markle began her ascent in Hollywood only to trade the red carpet for a crown in a real-life fairytale. But when the royal script flipped, she rewrote her story with an American dream twist. Since relocating to Montecito, Markle has weathered scrutiny as constant as the California sun, as though fate had not already dealt her with a handful of wild cards. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took the Big Apple by storm as they stopped by the Jazz at Lincoln Center for TIME100 Summit on Wednesday. While it was almost inevitable to not land on With Love, Meghan, Markle’s Netflix cooking show, the Duchess finally revealed why she chose not to film in her home.

According to the Duchess, she did not want the show to be just a stand and stir show like it used to be back in the days, nor did she want a reality show. She wanted the audience to converse with her and to be able to talk in a room with her crew. Markle reportedly had a crew of 80 people, which was not the “childhood memory” she was keen on passing to her children when they were napping.
This is the happiest Meghan Markle has been
With the frenzy and fame back in her court, Meghan Markle has found a new footing in 2025. Not only does she have With Love, Meghan season 2 under her belt, but she also has a lifestyle brand, As Ever, making waves globally. Speaking at the TIME100 Summit, she confessed, “This is the happiest that I’ve ever been.”

The Duchess dedicated a sweet tribute to Prince Harry and talked about her children, thanking the universe for everything that led her to this point in life.
Meghan Markle hopes she is back home in time for a special Prince Archie moment
During her conversation at the TIME100 Summit, Meghan Markle recounted just how busy the past year and a half had been with three projects under her sleeve. Although she barely had time to breathe, she stressed that her priorities were bifold. She has learned to prioritize, and as of now, the biggest of all is getting Montecito back in time to see Prince Archie lose his first tooth.

Markle added that being a mother puts things into perspective when something even “microscopic” in children’s’ lives becomes more important than the other bigger things.
Meghan Markle has created boundaries for her mental health
Being Meghan Markle has never been a walk in the royal garden. If anything, the shift from her royal-esque world made her more vulnerable to scrutiny, online and offline. However, in her conversation at the TIME100 Summit, she admitted to making conscious efforts to distinguish the lines of these kinds of probes for her own mental health and wellbeing.
The decision was also made to ensure Markle’s children had a proper role model growing up.
How does Meghan Markle want to be a role-model for her children?
Meghan Markle’s conscious efforts to protect her mental health did not stem only from her own resilience. It stems from the fact that she wants her daughter to be raised as “strong” and confident, and have a son who has a “sense of self that is going to empower women.”
