Sue Ramirez said she hopes to become a mother someday and believes boyfriend Dominic Roque would make “a very good father in the future.”
Ramirez opened up about her plans for motherhood during the media conference of her upcoming film “Project Baby” on Saturday, May 16, in Quezon City.
When asked if she has been thinking about having a baby, Ramirez admitted that becoming a mother has long been one of her dreams.

“Matagal ko na siyang gustong mangyari for me. Parang, sabi nga nila, pag tinatanong ako, ano bang gusto ko bang mangyari sa buhay ko? Parang nagawa ko na lahat, ang dami ko nang nagawa. Pero, gusto ko maging nanay. Gusto ko maging nanay na katulad ng nanay ko. ‘Yun ‘yung lagi kong sila sabi,” she said.
(I’ve wanted that to happen for me for a long time. Like what they say, whenever I’m asked what I want to happen in my life, I feel like I’ve already done so much. But I want to become a mother. I want to become a mother like my mom. That’s what I always say.)
Ramirez also acknowledged the pressure many women feel regarding fertility and timing.
“But, ‘yun nga, inevitable yung ticking time clock sa mga babae. Kailangan na siyang kilos at galaw, soon. Kung gusto natin may mangyari at may mabuong bata. Pero nga, right now, I’m still busy working. Pero kung yung bibigay sa akin,’ why not,” she added.
(But the ticking time clock for women is inevitable. We have to make moves soon if we want something to happen and have a healthy child. But right now, I’m still busy working. But if it’s given to me, why not.)
Asked if she wants to have children with Roque, the actress responded positively.
“Why not? Sana. Kung ibibigay, diba? I think Dominic will be a very, very good father in the future if he does want to have kids,” she said.
Ramirez also shared details about the current state of her relationship with the actor with select media after the main conference.
“We’re good. We have been spending more time with our families. I think it’s going very well. Sobrang saya ko. Parang hindi pa ako naging ganito kasaya ever (We’re very happy. I feel like I’ve never been this happy before),” she said.
“When we enter a relationship, we’re looking for someone na makakasama sa buhay, partner, ‘yung matinong tao. Kung kilala niyo lang talaga kung sino talaga si Dom, napakabuti, napakabait. Napaka family oriented. God-fearing,” she continued.
(When we enter a relationship, we’re looking for someone we can spend our life with, a partner, a decent person. If people really knew who Dom truly is, he’s very kind, very good-hearted, very family-oriented, and God-fearing.”)
Ramirez and Roque first sparked romance rumors in November 2024 after they were spotted kissing at a bar in Siargao. Roque later confirmed their relationship in December that year.
Meanwhile, “Project Baby” follows Sandy (Ramirez), a successful advertising agency founder, who decides to pursue motherhood on her own terms after feeling that time is running out for her to have a child. She will later seek the help of Migo (Rico Blanco) to be her baby daddy.
The film also stars Matt Lozano, Arra San Agustin, Yasser Marta, Alex Calleja, Kimson Tan, Christian Ty, Charuth, Drei Arias, Jonathan Perez, Jazzil Sarinas, and Alice Dixson.
Directed by Eric Quizon and written by Joey Javier Reyes, the film is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on June 10.
