DRS May 23: SRH beat RCB, Angkrish Raghuvanshi ruled out of IPL 2026, Pakistan squad for Australia ODIs


Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their league stage campaign on a high note by handing defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru a 55-run defeat. Despite the loss, RCB finish at the top of the IPL 2026 points table, while SRH are on 3rd and will play the Eliminator. Meanwhile, KKR have suffered a blow ahead of their virtual knockout game against DC as Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out. In other news, Pakistan have named a full-strength side for the ODI series against Australia, with Babar Azam and a host of stars returning. After being set a target of 256, Bengaluru lost by 55 runs, but still managed to top the table with 18 points and a superior NRR. Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of IPL 2026, due to concussion and a fracture on his left hand, suffered during the MI encounter on May 20. Kolkata are due to play their last league match against DC soon, and would sorely miss their best player of the season, Raghuvanshi scored 422 runs in 13 matches, including 5 fifties. Pakistan squad for Australia ODIs

PCB has named a full-strength squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia, with several key figures making their return to the format. The series, which will commence from May 30, will be the first 50-over format series for Pakistan since their last outing against Bangladesh in March, where they lost 1-2 to the Tigers. Pakistan will want to hit the reset button and start their preparations for the 2027 World Cup on a winning note by taking down a second-string Aussie side. Read more here.

More seats at Chinnaswamy

KSCA President Venkatesh Prasad has hinted that M. Chinnaswamy Stadium’s seating capacity played a role in the BCCI’s decision to move the IPL 2026 final to the Narendra Modi Stadium. Currently, the Bengaluru Stadium can hold 40,000 spectators but was capped to 28,000 this season. Therefore, the KSCA is redeveloping the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to increase the spectator capacity. Yet another painful, forgettable IPL season ends for CSK, that not only brought its share of challenges, but posed some new set of questions, which remained unanswered.
